Member Spotlight Boom-A-Rang Diner

This week’s Member Spotlight is on Boom-A-Rang Diner! The sole proprietorship is owned by Debbie Ritchie and opened May 5, 2014 – we’re almost to it’s 5th anniversary! When asked why she opened a Boom-A-Rang, Ritchie responded that she loved the food and there was nothing like it in Tishomingo at the time. She saw a need for the community and filled it the best she could. The diner offers a variety of food options including some specialty items like the half-pound hamburger steaks, frito chili pie, real Rueben sandwiches, and fried mushrooms – fresh mushrooms, battered and fried to order.

Boom-A-Rang Diner also has daily specials that include:

  • Monday – ½ price hamburgers
  • Tuesday – Fried or grilled chicken salad
  • Wednesday – Hot hamburger plate
  • Thursday – Steak sandwich
  • Friday – All you can each fish
  • Saturday – Elvin’s Ultimate Breakfast

Ritchie employs 12 full- and part-time staff members who enjoy being a part of the team. The business supports numerous local non-profits and fundraisers and thanks the community for their support over the last five years of business! Boom-A-Rang Diner is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. and is located at 314 W. Main Street in Tishomingo. Yours truly loves the cheeseburgers with an over-easy egg inside – yum!

We hope that you will join us this Friday for ribbon cutting celebrations at two new businesses in the area. The first will be held at B-N-B Monuments in Mill Creek at 12:30 p.m; the second will be at Xtreme Greenz on South Capitol Avenue in Tishomingo at 2:00 p.m. We will also need some strong volunteers to help us during the Tishomingo Parks & Trails Cleanup with our section of hiking trail! Please meet on Saturday, April 27th at 9:00 a.m. at the Pennington Park Pavilion.

The Johnston County-Wide Yard Sale Weekend is May 3-5 and you must register by Monday, April 29th to be included in the ad that will list addresses for the sales that weekend. It’s only $5 to register and sales will be posted in the Sentinel and on our Facebook page. We hope it is a fun weekend for all in Johnston County! Stop by the Chamber office in the Chickasaw Information Center.
