Member Spotlight Blue River RV Park
This week’s Member Spotlight is on Blue River RV Park, located between Tishomingo and Milburn. This business just recently opened and has several great people working to make it succeed. Armand “Buck” and Carolyn Edelman are the owners, and they have Ashley Salem as the office manager and Charles “Ray” Kent as camp host. The park includes 55 full-service RV spots (water, sewer and electric). Fees are $25 per day, $150 per week, and $350 per month for a 30amp spot, $400 for a 50amp. The tent camping fee is $10 per night. Blue River RV Park features a community room that has separate pool and poker tables, a stage for live entertainment and/or church services, and will soon have a kitchen, bathroom and laundry facility. One tenant said, “It’s so quiet here. It’s just what we wanted.”
This all didn’t just happen in one day, but through months of hard work and planning! Edelman noted, “It has been more than 12 years since the park was used…many of the electrical panels had to be replaced, the water system had to be checked and most importantly, 95 loads of gravel were installed to make roads to each site.” He has a vision for the outdoor area – it has a stage that sits in a natural bowl, creating an amphitheater-type sound. He said, “When I was a kid, we attended camp meeting revivals on MacArthur Street in OKC. I will offer this opportunity to local churches in the future and envision families sitting in chairs as the preacher gives his sermon”
