Member Spotlight Remedies+

This week’s Member Spotlight is on Remedies+, owned and operated by Rodney and Wanda Gray. Remedies+ was an idea born in the first month of marijuana legalization in Oklahoma. After Rodney’s battle with cancer and discovering the medicinal uses that cannabis offers, the need to be part of the industry increased even more.   Wanda was unable to find a building that would meet the needs of the industry and also be compliant with school distancing rules, so it sat on the backburner and she waited for the perfect opportunity.  The couple started their first endeavor in the industry with a ‘grow’ and have expanded the business from there.  The doors opened in June 2020 at their current location of 708 W. Main Street in Tishomingo.

Remedies+ has wellness advisors that are equipped with a wealth of cannabis knowledge. Staff is dedicated to helping you discover your unique path to wellness and are true advocates for cannabis and all the wonderful things it can do. Remedies+ mission is to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care by providing direct access to affordable, consistent, and effective medical products. They are dedicated to providing patients with the safest, most affordable, quality products they can find. Remedies+ is proud to offer a large selection of CBD (human and pet) and cannabis products that includes premium flower, vapes, edibles, concentrates and medicinal products from the most trusted brands in the Oklahoma cannabis industry.  Naturally, they do carry products from their own grow, Nativeroots, but one of the most important things that they take pride in is supporting local growers in the industry. All their flower is purchased exclusively from the Texoma area and the bulk of those are right here in Johnston County, leading to their store motto of #smokelocal. They offer first-time patient, veteran, and first responder discounts. They also participate in the penny RSO program for cancer patients.

#togetherWEEDcan is a community giving program that Remedies+ recently started at the dispensary to give back to Johnston County. Their customers get to choose a “cause of the month” and deposit their receipt in that can. At the end of the month a percentage of the receipt sales go directly to help fund that cause or project. The current choices include the Henrietta Gaddis Park project and veteran services. This past Christmas Remedies+ collected toys for Toys for Tots and distributed coats during the recent ice storm.

The business is planning a patient drive the first Saturday in June. Watch the Remedies+ Facebook page for classes that pertain to the cannabis industry that will be held at the dispensary free of charge. They are constantly looking for ways to expand their business and the services that are offered. Perhaps future expansion will be happening soon…

When you purchase from Remedies+ you are not only buying local, but you are also supporting a hometown, native Johnston County, Oklahoma raised, female veteran.  When you walk in the door you will be greeted not only with a smile but a friendly and familiar face.  Upon entering Remedies+, you will see the range of CBD products available where no medical card is required to purchase, along with a room that offers grow supplies and nutrients, a waiting room, and an ATM for public use.  “We want to encourage you to stop in, say hello and take a quick tour of the shop,” said Wanda. Remedies+ hours of operation are Monday – Saturday, 10am-8pm and Sunday 11am-4pm.
