Member Spotlight Tishomingo Motor Sales

This week’s Member Spotlight is on Tishomingo Motor Sales! This business was started in 1963 by Earl Northcutt and son Sandy Northcutt, the business expanded to Kingston in the 1980’s and opened the Madill store in 1994. A year later, the Kingston store was consolidated with Madill and it has been that way ever since. Motor Sales, Inc. is currently owned and operated by the Northcutt family and Robert Smith, and employs 17 people.

Motor Sales has grown to accommodate your need for everyday tools, mechanical parts, and outdoor equipment. Auto parts and supplies are a large part of the business but the store also sells outdoor power equipment and does small engine repair services.  They repair and produce hydraulic hoses and have a large supply of industrial and oil field parts and supplies.  They also carry common agricultural products and are a regional distributor for Donaldson filters, Scag Mowers, Stihl products, and Gates Hydraulics.  The company slogan is, “Motor Sales – When it needs to get done!”

Motor Sales has always been a champion for the communities they operate in. Tishomingo and Madill athletics, Johnston County Reaching Out, the Johnston County Junior Livestock premium sale, various county school fundraisers, the Tishomingo Band, Boy Scout Troop 100, and the Johnston County Chamber are just a few of the efforts and community organizations that the company supports.

The Motor Sales team strives to keep the items you need in stock so that you don’t have to travel out of town for the things you need now. They try to provide the most knowledge and best customer service around – and with 150 years of combined experience behind the counter, you can bet they know how to help! Jayson Northcutt, owner/operator of the Motor Sales noted, “The owners of Motor Sales are extremely appreciative of the community and customer base that has supported the business over the years.” You can visit Motor Sales at 102 E. Main Street Monday through Friday from 7:30-5:30, and Saturday from 8:00-12:00. Call 580-371-2657 or go to www.motorsales.us for more information!

Look out next week for a Spotlight on The Rose Petal!

I want to thank everyone that had a hand in making the Red, White and Boom Celebration a big hit. I and others had a great time and we hope you did too! Our next event of this nature will be the 2018 Inaugural Fall Festival – if you have an idea for a catchy name, send it my way. This will be held the last Saturday in October through the first Saturday in November, a week full of activities, events, and fall fun. Our committees are always open to new ideas, so you can email, text, call, or stop by and let me know of some things you might like to see happen.

The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from the old ones.” – John Maynard Keynes
