This week’s Member Spotlight is on Blue Acres Ranch! Owned by William and Whitney Overby and located just southeast of Harbert Ranch, Blue Acres Ranch is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend away. With access to 160 acres and four ponds, there is something for everyone. Whether you enjoy relaxing in a hammock by the pond, sitting by the campfire under the stars, fishing, hiking or paddle boarding on your own private pond, we have it all.
Accommodations included in the beautiful home available for weeknight and weekend stays are: two bedrooms that can sleep 9-10 people, one with a king, twin, trundle and sofa and the other with a queen and full bed; a second living room with a futon couch that folds out into a queen; the family room, which has a sofa couch that pulls out into a queen with plenty of space for inflatable beds and sleeping bags on the floor; and one large bathroom with two sinks that connects to a large closet. There is room for the whole family!
There are several amenities available for entertainment that include: a portable Bluetooth speaker; two TVs with DirecTV and a DVD player; signal booster for increased cell reception; over 20 board/card games; washer and dryer; life jackets; a toy room for the kids; a high chair, pack n’ play; inflatable bed rail; and fenced in yard. There is a fire pit, sand box, ping pong table, cornhole boards, bocce ball, and other yard games, plus an enclosed sunroom with seating.
Enjoy catch and release fishing at any one of the four private ponds. Beck’s Big Pond is over 3 ½ acres and is located just feet from the house. It is stocked with bass, channel catfish, bluegill and crappie. Watch them hit the water at the feeder nightly! If you want to try your luck at one of the smaller ponds, hike over to Saylor’s Hidden River, Mommy’s Pond or Rose Pond. Also available are a canoe, paddle board, paddle boat, kayaks, kids’ kayaks, and kid’s paddle boards. Most of the main pond is over 12 feet deep, so life jackets are provided and highly recommended.
If you are looking to spend the night under the stars, hike over to Campy’s Campground, a hidden campsite in the woods perfect for a secluded camping experience. Enjoy hiking or running on Cedar Loop or Whisky Trail or venture off into the woods on your own path. Pick pecans from Granny’s Pecan Tree or Daddy’s Pecan Tree or enjoy an afternoon picnic in their shade. If scheduling permits, take a hayride around the ranch.
